Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Winston Churchill
The good news for all of us is that neither success nor failure is the end. If success were the end we would have little to strive or live for and if failure were the end we all would be defeated early in life. The courage to continue is what counts. In success it means the courage to raise the bar, continuously improve and strive for something better. In defeat, courage is what will enable you to rise each time you fall and press forward despite obstacles.
The courage to continue is born of determination. It has been said that some people seem destined to greatness, but most are simply determined to greatness. Those that push through the ups and down of life are those with the most to share and the most to be thankful for.
Be thankful for the good times for they help you see what is possible and be thankful for the tough times as they help you see a different perspective. The courage and determination to continue is truly the key.
Are you determined to succeed? Do you have the courage to continue?
Robert Hughes stated, “A determined soul will do more with a rusty monkey wrench than a loafer will accomplish with all the tools in a machine shop.” What do you have at your disposal? More importantly, what are you not using that is at your disposal which can help you to achieve more? Being determined to do all that you can, regardless of what you do or don’t have access to, is what will help you succeed in the end.
Many an individual has achieved, not because they were the most talented, gifted or knowledgeable, but because they were the most determined to succeed no matter what. How would you rate your determination, your courage to continue?
If you are determined to do and committed to continue at all costs, you will enter that rarified air where legends are born, where history is made, where the impossible becomes the inevitable. It really is a choice – so choose wisely.
