Ellen from Diamond Bowl in Wicklow Town popped into the shop to discuss how she could use social media more effectively.

At the moment they use Facebook and have a dedicated Page for Diamond Bowl. I suggested that they create a way to reward their on-line customers, with coupons, 2 for 3 offers or even discounts for the restaurant.

The Facebook page needs a landing page with a link to their various competitions pages on their website, with a coupon for new fans to use at the bowling centre

Encourage their followers to put up photographs of themselves in Diamond Bowl, have random draws for the best photograph, photographs are a great way to attract more followers as people tag their friends.

We suggested that they look at creating video’s to show off the venue as a business venue, the perfect place to hold parties and as a way to introduce the team at Diamond Bowl.

We developed the start of a great campaign idea to get the community involved with Diamond Bowl, called Sports hero’s. The concept is for Diamond Bowl to get local sports teams from Rugby, soccer, cricket, lawn bowls, tennis etc to put a team forward to find the ultimate bowling team in Wicklow.

People can vote on line for random competitions, like best legs or uniform, they can follow the knock out rounds and support their team with messages etc.

The campaign has potential to develop around different themes and run annually, its fun, inclusive and appeals to all marketing mediums.

They are looking forward to starting.
