A simple story to explain the power of Social Media

Social Media Landscape

I was having a coffee a while ago with a director of a large business, and we were discussing the pro’s and cons of Social Media, did it really have relevance to every business.

Now I can talk for hours about the benefits of Social Media, but I am learning to Keep it Simple….So I asked if they had recently purchased a products or service, one that required a fair spend.

They had as it happens, they had put in a new CRM system, this meant money, it also meant time for staff to get used to it, that can mean more spend… so he they had looked around, he was given a short list of two, whom he was due to meet.

He saw all the technical specs and jargon, knew that that capability had been investigated, so he wanted to find out more about thre product, the people behind each one and their customers.

So he read on-line reviews, watched some great “how it works” video footage on You Tube, read a few of the technical support Blogs, investigated the teams behind the company on Networking sites like LinkedIn and of course looked at customer references and reviews. Armed with that “real” information …made his decision easier.

It made sence to him, to develop a proper digital strategy, so his customers could see video and other people talking about his business too. I love these easy to understand examples… decisions based on Social media, I promise not a one off, just look on line at the B2B success stories.

Or even better tell us your experience as a customer or seller
