Tool number 33, getting independent feedback on your Burgeoning ideas

I came across BountyIt.com a site to help you with getting great affordable feedback and ideas on anything from writing articles, website design to everyday business issues.  

As small businesses often find it difficult to get independent advice, I think this site is amazing.

You simply join, and for small fees you can get really good advice from professionals. It has good terms and conditions around confidentiality so your ideas are protected, and another great thing is you can become an advisor too.

I’ve been asking founder Cliff Bernstein about the company.

In one sentence, what is Bounty It?

BountyIt is a place where people get rewarded for their feedback, knowledge, and skills.

What problems does Bounty It solve?

BountyIt solves the problem of motivating people to give you constructive feedback on any topic of your choosing, while also providing an easy-to-use platform for people to come together and complete great services.

It also makes project management easier and safer with our built-in agreement system, which we try our best to mediate any dispute or misconduct that may occur.

When and why did you launch it?

We had a soft launch in August which was well received. We started by populating the site with a Bounty for our own site where we received over a dozen responses that were insightful, critical, and yet constructive.

In fact, we used this feedback during our redesign and is present in our current site that we just launched this month.

Who is your target audience?

Anyone who needs targeted feedback or service providers; so startups, designers, established brands, freelancers, and everyone in between.

What are your immediate goals?

Get people aware of our site and see where things take us. We feel that we have built a scalable site that can accommodate almost any ones needs.

By providing an easy to use platform we hope to allow web business to efficiently shape their business and get it developed.

What were the biggest challenges involved in building Bounty It?

The biggest challenge was finding the right person to build it. We went through an unfortunate occurrence with our initial programmer, that in fact helped us shape the project management portion of our website.

Eventually once we found our go-to developers, we overcame that challenge, got it made, and continue to improve it regularly.

How will the company make money?

The company makes money by charging a 10% fee to the receiver of the Bounty, upon receipt of a Feedback Bounty or a completed Service Bounty.

Who is in the team and what does it look like?

Our founders are:

  • Cliff Bernstein, 22, Los Angeles, CA. Graduated from Loyola Marymount University in 2010 with a BA in finance.
  • Andrew Rosenau, 27, Philadelphia, PA.  BS in Chemistry from Trinity College, currently in last year at Villanova Law School.

Where would you like to be in one, three and five year’s time?

One year: A reputable one stop shop for improving your web business and making money online.

Three years: To have conquered the “web feedback” target market, and to have successfully moved onto others, utilising our platform to the fullest.

Five years: A household name for making money online, and receiving great feedback and services in a variety of industries.
